Security Explained

Your order is secured by state of the art security measures.

This secure server has GeoTrust and Equifax security, where you will see a logo as shown on the right here. GeoTrust & Equifax is a huge, internationally recognised security kite mark, to show that the security of the order form is the best it can be. The order form uses 256 bit encryption.

The order form uses Barclaycard ePDQ, Barclays Bank's electronic payment system, and has for the past 7 years. We now use Barclays Bank's ePDQ intenet payment system, because it offers maximum security both for us and for you the customer. Barclaycard ePDQ uses its own SSL, which means we never holds your payment card details. This is only held by Barclays, who have a high reputation for security. The ePDQ system has great security because of the credit checking it offers. It checks the card for 3 'green-lights', and only then is your card debited. The 3 'green-lights' are
  • The card is authorised to take payment (ie. not reported lost or stolen, there is money on the account)
  • The CVV2 number on the reverse of the card is correct
  • The cardholders address is correct as given.
If your card is being used fraudulently, and these 'green-lights are not triggered, the transaction will fail, which protects you from someone else using your card fraudulently. The address checking particularly offers you great security against anyone using your card fraudulently - they would not know your address. PLUS, we will only deliver to the registered cardholders address, so you would still recieve the goods! In the incredibly unlikely event of this happening, you would simply return the goods for a full refund.

If you click through to the order form (eg click "Instant Cover"), you can see that the page is fully secure, with "https" (of which the "s" means "secure") and you will also see the yellow padlock icon on the bottom right of your screen, again proving that the page is secure.
